Meet the Team!

Nicole Allison, President, PMHNP

Nicole has over thirty years of experience in the mental health field. She graduated from Salve Regina and obtained her master's degree in psychiatric nursing from University of Rhode Island. She has worked in various practice settings including psychiatric hospitals, colleges, community treatment centers, private settings, and is now owner of West Bay Psychiatric Associates. 

Brian Hickey, PMHNP

Arielle Rounds, PMHNP

Arielle obtained her BSN from Rhode Island College and went on to earn her master's degree for her psychiatric nurse practitioner certification from Regis College. She has worked as an inpatient mental health nurse for eight years at Butler Hospital before graduating and then transferred to her role as a psychiatric provider here at West Bay. She believes in providing treatment with a bio-psycho-social focus and encompassing all elements of the person as a whole. Arielle's approach is evidence based with a modern flair and she will work with you to formulate a plan that is individually tailored to your own realistic goals and affirmations.

Katie Thayer, PMHNP

Katie has been interested in the mental health field since starting her career as a pediatric nurse at Hasbro Children's Hospital outpatient program. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Rhode Island College and her master's degree in psychiatric nursing from Regis College. Katie's approach is both scientific and holistic. When treating children and adolescents, Katie believes in creating an individual yet family oriented treatment plan to best suit her patient's needs. Katie also incorporates supportive psychotherapy in her medication management sessions to give you the best possible plan for your positive treatment related outcomes.

Irene Dematteo, Psychiatric APRN

Irene is a seasoned and compassionate provider who will work with you to explore the best possible options for symptom control. Her goal is to provide you a treatment plan that promotes having your best life. Irene has a caring demeanor and utilizes a holistic approach. Irene's experience in the psychiatric field allows for the provision of quality care in a collaborative and supportive provider-patient relationship. 

Alyssa Kortschinsky, PMHNP

 

Alyssa earned her BSN at Rhode Island College and has 8 years of psychiatric nursing experience at Butler Hospital. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Master's of Science degree in Nursing. She utilizes an evidence-based approach to treat adults seeking medication management for various mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and bipolar disorders. Also provides holistic interventions to promote mental health and overall functioning.

Violet Morin, Ed.M, LMHC LMFT

Violet earned a BA at Goddard College and graduated from Harvard University with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology.  Her 40 plus year experience in the field of mental health services has been as a psychologist, as well as Administrator, Program Director, and Clinical Supervisor. Violet has implemented co-occurring substance abuse programs, both inpatient and outpatient, in the community, and in correctional settings in RI, MA and CT. She is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist in RI and MA. Her clinical experience is in dual diagnosed disorders, with expertise in trauma, PTSD, disability, self-harm, mood disorders, and anxiety. She is experienced with family, couple, individual and group settings working to make “change” happen.
